solved: Secure SSH access from the Internet to the NAS

Hi all,

i've got another issue to solve. I found one step-by-step guide hot to do it, but it seem to be for higher versions of NAS than is mine.
Here is the link - http://www.nas-2000.org/mwiki/index.php?…rnet_to_the_NAS

Folowing all steps it will point you to step

Add the next to lines to /system/overlay/rc.d/S40Dropbear.sh

# restart the inetd-deamon
killall inetd && inetd

But at my system, there is no directory "overlay" at /system

So how can i do it with my system? - see signature

Hi,
that HowTo is for Tinky firmware.
So it does not apply to your original Raidsonic firmware.

I am afraid it will not be possible that way. :(

Sorry,

Hi,

as I see your OS ist the original FW... you can use the SSH server package from the raidsonic Homepage: http://raidsonic.de/de/data/driver/firmw…es/packages.zip

The only thing you´ll have to set the protforwarding from port xyz (I recomment to use not Port 23 - It´s likely scanned by some robots) to port 23 (this is the local one and the SSH server is listening to that one by default) and you can access your Box from the www as root.

Theres one hint @ all: Please change the Root- user Password for security reasons.
