hi,

exist any redboot.bin (for giganas) to enable the conetion telnet over ethernet?

Can i flash the redboot of dualnas for access form ethernet at 192.168.2.71 : 9000 ip?

No, sorry :(

This does not work for the Giganas and NAS4220.
It would only be possible if someone compiles a new bootloader.

There was one guy who did soemthing like this, but I cannot remember at the moment.

Hi, I'm quite rockcod ;)

I think that to flash one redboot (from another device of this: http://mrt.nas-central.org/wiki/StorLink_based_products ) to enable the telnet access from ethernet. Yesterday i probe a redboot of dualnas (mi device is giganas) and boot cerrectly, but this redboot not enable the telnet access to 192.168.2.71 ip.

What do you think? It is possible? I am crazy?

Do you know one device redboot with telnet access (by ethernet) enabled?

PD.: Another crazy idea, can i flash the bootloader from another GIGANAS from other user who previosly enable the telnet access of their nas form ethernet?

Hey man!

If you ask 10 times if there is a way someone would have to anwser 10 times NO. Please stop that X( .

With flashing bootloader of different hardware platforms you risk to destroy you hardware completely.
Even if the redboot of DUAL-NAS boots the flashes on the boards are of different size and organization.

Would you try to flash a mainboard bios for a different board?

Sorry Master :P

The bootloader or redboot are the same leght 128kb, for MRT devices.

I try to enable the telnet access (from ehternet) to redboot to flash the device, do you undertand me?

I am looking for a redboot with ethernet tlenet enabled to access this.

Hi,
today morning I was in contact with the guy who modified the bootloader.
This version boots the kernel an ramdisk from harddisk. Then it should be possible to flash the firmware from the web if.

He must check for the latest version. If I have it in my hands I will post it.

Hope to have a workaround soon 8)

Can you send me this redboot to flash and probe?

i probe a lot of redboots but with poor resaults (not telnet access).

A friend give me a nokia CA-42. I cut it, and look 5 wires. I probe with this and dont respond JP1. I think that the fucker JP1 is destroyed because dont respond with 2 diferents adapter.

Hi,
I have got a modified bootloader.
This version tries to boot the kernel and ramdisk from disk. You have to put zImage and rd.gz to the first partition on disk. Normally this is the system partition if the disk has been formatted by the nas before.
If not, you have to format with ext2 or ext3.
The system should boot and then you can perform a standard firmware upgrade throughout the web if. Then you can write the original bootloader with JTAG again.

Hi, i flash the new boot, but, i can access to nas by ethernet :(

the device have the default ip 192.168.0.200

I format a ide 200gb HD with ubuntu in ext3 format, copy the rd.gz and the zImage to the HD.

No, is not supported by the tool.

I am going to prepare a snapshot of a fresh system these days. Although it is from a NAS4220 it should boot on the MRT. I have been very busy these days.

I made a snapshot of a NAS4220's fresh system partition. I already put a Giganas rd.gz and zImage to the root.
It can be downloaded here. I hope that it would boot on a MRT Giganas.

Hi master, i try to revive teh device....

I can write the default redboot on the device. When the device starts, can i ping it to the ip 192.168.0.200 correctly...

The system aparently work, but the hd is empty. I try with a Ide disk 200gb.

What partition table can i do in the HD? In what partitions copy that archives?

PD.: I returned to try to rescue the device...

EDIT: sorry i remember the problem, can i access to the redboot with the serial ttl (it is the problem of the device)...

Do you know a redboot for this device with redboot with access enabled for ethernet to try this? for example redboot of another device type LA FONERA (have a redboot with ethernet access)...
