35hd-quad-nas -Wont Accept credentials

Folks,

I bought the 35hd-quad-nas and so far I am disappointed as I cannot connect via Windows XP or Vista. I have set security on XP and Vista to send LM &NTLM -use NTLMv2 session security if negoiated.

To be more precise I cannot connect to any shares by using UNC( \\nas\public) for e.g. I can connect to the webpage and also via FTP but for some reason SAMBA keeps asking for a username and password although I provide the correct one and share permissions are ok. It looks like an authentication issue but I tried everything.

Is there anyone that can help?

Product Name : QUAD-HDD-NAS
Firmware Version : G5S604120026300

Hello and welcome,

I think this comes along with the hostname resolving procedure. Well try 2 connect via \\<ip> and not via \\hostname

Second: Reboot nas and pc, clear the cache settings in client pc and try again. Best way using the SAMBA shares is to connect a network drive (explorer... extra... connect network drive (or something like that) Im using the german translatet win)

Shoul work ;-)

Greetz.
